RMR

What is RMR Testing?

It tells us how much energy your body needs just to stay alive—before exercise, movement, or daily activity.
What does RMR measure?

Indirect calorimetry is a test that measures how many calories your body burns at rest—your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). It can help us understand your baseline calorie needs, whether you metabolism is slower, average, or faster than expected and how your body is using fuel (fat vs carbohydrates) at rest.
What to expect:
You’ll lie down or sit comfortably in a relaxed position
You’ll wear a mask or sit under a canopy hood that measures your breathing
You simply rest and breathe normally
The test typically takes 10–20 minutes

No exercise is required
Wear comfortable clothes
Have nothing to eat or drink other than water for at least 4 hours prior to the test
Do not smoke, chew gum or exercise for 1 hour prior to the test
